The company is engaged in the marketing and distribution of special steel, mainly for the mechanical engineering, public works, agricultural machinery, lifting machinery, automotive and energy sectors. It was founded in September of 1976. Its registered head office is located in Abadino, in the province of Biscay. The company is the leading distributor of specialty steel in Spain, providing approximately 100,000 tons of products to a portfolio of more than 7,000 customers. Its product line comprises steel for mechanical engineering (round steel, square steel, rectangular steel, hexagonal steel, calibrated steel, and perforated tubes and bars), tool steel (including high speed steel), stainless steel, welding stainless steel, aluminum alloys, and cast iron. These are used in the production of parts subjected to substantial mechanical stress: machines and engines, farming machinery, axles, shafts, pinions, springs, and valves. A part of France's Jacquet Metal Service SA, the company has a network of 12 distribution centers in the Iberian region: 10 in Spain (Abadiño, Berriz, Astola, Madrid, Valencia, Valladolid, Oviedo, Azkoitia, Zaragoza and Barcelona) and two in Portugal (Sintra and Ovar).
